About: Located in the International Food Court, people who have tried this Japanese food hub only have good things to say. Their bento boxes are superb! Side dishes, pasta, miso soup, pickled radishes, mac salad, and something fried with Sriracha mayo are included in each box.

 

The sandwiches are available in a number of flavors, including ebi, katsu, cheese, and chicken katsu, and are well-seasoned, not too spicy, and not greasy due to the coating. The katsus are very moist and delicious. In the wake of the pandemic, it's a bold decision to open a new restaurant in an underground food court!

4. Fisher Loft

About: The Palihotel San Francisco's loft-style all-day lounge, liquor bar, and special event space is situated on the 2nd floor and offers approachable cuisine and drink menus to inspire hotel guests and locals to mix and mingle morning, lunch, and night.

 

Fisher Loft is a hotel restaurant with a side bar that has an old-school feel to it while also being charming. If you're looking for a more trendy lounge, this isn't the place for you; instead, it's a more casual and soothing atmosphere. The bartenders are dressed in white mixologist uniforms, and the drinks are served in delicate small cups. It didn't feel like San Francisco at all!

 

The staff is pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. The cocktails were excellent, and the charcuterie plate was delectable. The interior has been significantly updated, with a brighter lighting scheme than prior iterations, though the wood panels and bar top have survived. It's more like a bar than a pub.

5. Sotto Mare Oysteria & Seafood

      552 Green Street, San Francisco, California 94133, United States

 

About: Sotto Mare Restaurant, located in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach area, offers a delectable and authentic Italian North Beach experience.

 

Oysters and clams on the half shell, Boston style Clam Chowder, Baccala, Crab Cioppino, Louis salads, Seafood Pastas, and Seafood Risotto are just a couple of the items on the menu. They also deliver a regular range of fresh fish for those who want to cook at home.

 

Rich and Laura Azzolino, along with their children Vito and Ria, bought Sotto Mare in 2014. Rich has a long background in San Francisco restaurants, having served at Caesar's, Jovanello's, Maye's Oyster Bar, and the California Culinary Academy, among others.

 

The menu was planned to be as similar to traditional Italian cuisine as possible, and it was served in the same way as it is done in Italy. Sotto Mare is known around the world for "The Best Damn Crab Cioppino," but Rich is still trying new dishes and telling customers what they think they'd want.

6. Il Canto Café

      475 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, California 94111, United States 

 

 

About: They decided to create breakfast and lunch products that were exclusive. They refined their menu items over time. Burritos and paninis are crisp and spicy thanks to their double-ridged grills. They've also invented their own chipotle sauce, which goes well with their burritos and other dishes.

 

Chipotle Breakfast Burritos, Homemade Pastas, and Gourmet Paninis/Salads are among their specialties. It's loaded with all of your favorite breakfast ingredients including sausage, bacon, and ham. Although, unlike most breakfast burritos, they don't top it with potatoes or anything else; anything in their burrito is delicious.

 

Be warned: it would leave you looking for an additional cup of coffee and this thing will put you in a food coma because it is too generously filled. The staff is incredibly friendly, the delivery is timely, and the food is wonderful.

7. Ozumo ​

About: When Jeremy Umland was an exchange student and baseball player at Seinan Gakuin University in 1979, he became acquainted with Japanese cuisine.

 

He started designing the Ozumo concept after relocating to San Francisco in 1998, based on his experiences in Japan and his love for Japanese cuisine, hospitality, and architecture.

 

Jeremy opened Ozumo inside Kimpton's Harbor Court Hotel in 2001, guided by a dedication to excellence and authenticity, and created a one-of-a-kind restaurant experience that pays homage to Japanese culture and a modern dining experience waiting to be experienced in the United States. 

 

Ozumo's overall hospitality will win you over. Guests are handled extremely well from the moment they are seated by the host to the time they depart. Their wait staff is knowledgeable, effective, and extremely polite.

8. Birdsong

About: Birdsong serves Pacific Northwest-inspired heritage cuisine. Their menu emphasizes on using food in the most sustainable way possible.

 

This generally applies to produce that is in season, which means it is at its freshest and most tasty. Local vegetables and whole animals serve as reminders of everything that has been lost in order for us to be able to live better. They understand and accept the weight of the burden as they go about their business.

 

They cook to honor their heritage, their art, and, most importantly, the people in their lives. They hope that, like them, people will leave Birdsong feeling a little more associated, lighter in spirit, happy and fulfilled than when they arrived.

9. Ben’s Fast Food

About: Ben Rowe, the founder of Ben's Fast Food, was influenced by his upbringing in California's central valley. His hometown has some of America's most fertile agriculture. Even in the midst of so much incredible produce that could feed the whole country, the most inexpensive food is still conventional fast food.

He opened this restaurant with the intention of transforming the paradigm by offering nutritious meals that are as inexpensive and tasty as fast food.

For three years, he held dinner tastings in his home with relatives, neighbors, and anybody interested to sample the cuisine in order to create the menu. The dream is slowly becoming a reality, due to the efforts of a few thousand people.

About: Their essence is a savory Asian-inspired American comfort breakfast and lunch, and their spirit is creative Korean dinners, and they are situated in the heart of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood.
