The Gardens at Heather Farm is a nonprofit garden, education center, and special event organization located on six picturesque acres in the Walnut Valley, CA. The vision of a family-focused and educational garden started in 1968 when founders recognized not only the beauty of the rolling hillside in Walnut Creek’s Ygnacio Valley but also a need in the community to bring focus back to nature and make it accessible to all. The Gardens today reflect the united efforts of those who have (and still are) investing their time, skills, and financial resources to make this community what it can be.
Heather Farm’s gardens are spread over 6 acres with a variety of distinctive indoor and outdoor venues. They feature colorful flower beds, herbal and rock gardens, and water features. It’s one of the most popular locations in the East Bay for weddings, gatherings, meetings, seminars, and other special occasions, not surprisingly.
Exchange vows for a genuinely intimate wedding at the Gazebo with a special, dormant roof supported by climbing roses. The weather is ideal for the image: from the spring to the autumn, the adjacent garden is blooming with thousands of colorful roses perfuming the air, and the surrounding lake and fountains sparkle in the background.
The Patio & Pavilion is a sprawling terraced field, bordered by a raised garden with flowers and herbaceous plants, where cocktails and small receptions are also held. It is tailor-made for enjoying the outdoors, features a caterer-friendly bar and a granite counter to serve drinks and appetizers, and a patio with seating or dancing facilities.
The Camellia Room is bright and airy, has a beamed ceiling and hardwood floors, and big windows, which offer natural light to the room. With decorative lights, draperies, lanterns, or flowers, you can customize the space … or enjoy the beautiful view of the garden. There is a bridal dressing room adjoining and a large deck with wrapping that allows guests to take in the scenery.
Such beautiful gardens enhance all the senses. Once you have the case, you can earn the extra incentive to help a non-profit public garden and nature school.
